Year-end review and highlights
2016 is a year most people would like to forget. As horrible as 2016 was, in terms of technology, 2016 has been the best year to have experienced. The biggest shock of 2016 was Trump being elected as president of the United States of America, not only was the business world shocked,but the rest of the world. We experience many trends this year, including the Hashtag trends, such as the #Fesmustustfall. New hairstyles and new dance moves, but who can forget the top charting hits.

The release of the Sumsang Galaxy s7 and s7 edge
Sumsang has set the standard very high if not impossible to reach, for all android powered devices. The camera quality was dubbed the best,before the release of the iPhone 7. The s7 gives users a premium user experience, colors just blend in perfectly, pictures super clear, speakers excellent, and the phone itself has a premium feel when holding it.?
The edge with the screen slightly tilting to the side has increased the screen space and also introduced a new way of viewing things on a phone. This is clearly revolutionary. This concept is taken from an existing one whereby the screen is made from flexible material thus being able to be curved and bent.
To this point Smartphone makers are still trying to catch-up to Samsung, even though the Note 6 flagship had a negative impact on the company with its battery exploding.

E3 2016 and the innovations that came from this event
Microsoft took the world by storm, when they finally perfected the integration of their windows software to that of their console product XBox one. At E3 we were introduced to the much anticipated Battlefield one, Starwars Battlefront, FIFA 17, Call of duty: Infinity Warfare, Dishonored 2 and many other exciting games.
Apart from games, many companies like Alienware introduced powerful gaming machines that enhances the gaming experience.
E3 2016 has set the highest standard and I'm sure ants my Techies can't wait to see what's in stores for us in 2017.

The iPhone 7 did not live up to its hype, however it still set a standard yet again, it took the spot from the s7 as soon as it came out. The camera outperformed all the smartphone cameras. The iPhone's operating system has continued to dominate with latest operating system 10.2, simplicity isss just a step away.
The iPhone is arguably the best smartphone out there, it hats a high status associated with it due to a number of high profile celebrities and other persons. Apple however shouldn't be comfortable with this market position as their niche is slowly deteriorating and Samsung and other Smartphone makers are reaching the same perfection and innovating in their own ways
The new MacBook Pro with a revolutionary Touch bar
The MacBook Pro 2016 only came late in the year. Instead of the control buttons at the top of the keyboard , Apple introduced a touchscreen touch bar, on top of that they've also included a fingerprint scanner for security purpose. The 2016 MacBook Pro is one of the thinnest laptops out there. This shows that Apple still holds true to their philosophy of a thin and lightweight laptop.
The performs of the Laptop has been improved, however it also comes with controversies. There are some ports that have been removed, such as the USB ports and HDMI ports they compensate this They've provided users with some adaptors, but you going to pay more for those.
Regardless of all these controversy Apple is just an industry success.
Google's Pixel smartphone
The main reason why Apple has been this successful is because they control both software with their very own operating system and hardware their own iPhone, iPads and Laptops. Apple has never been challanged in this realm, and hence the decision by google to start producing its own smartphone line and laptops has been hailed onenof the mostbinteresting decisions. Google Pixel is the first phone made by google, its camera has been hailed is onenof the best out there. To compete with Apple's Siri, Google has created google assistance. Google assistance is very much dynamic with sophisticated features. This assistance software has been intergrated with most of google's products including the new unvailed Google Home box, which turns your home into a smart home.
Google is steping into Apple's terittory, but its going to take sometime to catch up to Apple.
The drones revolution
Over the years the idea of drones has been presented to the world of internet, however it was not yet viable, only recently has the drones been made available to the market, mass production of these drones has already been started. The drone revolution has affectes a lot of industry. A prominent one is Amazon, who aee planning to use drones to deliver online purchases, this however is still under the planning phase. Many drones are embeded with cameras, this makes it possible for emergency services to use these to access places which would otherwise be risky. As for techies well you get to spy on your girlfriend/Boyfriend ( btw that's illegal), this gives users the opportunity to explore their environment and surroundings, that means more views on YouTube.
The film industry is also looking to capitalise on this new technology, what does that mean for us movie and series lovers? Well better quality and a new experience and viewpoint.
This is a fairly new market and there are a lot of opportunities and this is one of the industries to look out for.

Electric cars have been unflavoured over the years due to how slow they are, then came a South African Billionaire called Elon Musk , who started a company called tesla. Over the years Tesla has been a struggling company, until recently when it introduced it's fully electric cars range including: Model s, Model X and Model 3. These have each set standards in their respective categories.
If you thought Tesla is just like any other car company you are wrong. Tesla' s goal is to accelerate sustainability, by producing electric cars and batteries that are long lasting. Elon is passionate about using other sources of energy, hence he started Tesla and Solar City.
Tesla has set the electric market on a favourable spot and hence it will be interesting to see what the company will come up with next year and other years.
