It's a joke right? ... No not at all, the only catch is that it's sold in India, thus you will have import it, meaning freight and carriage costs. The phone has 1Gb of RAM, 8Gb memory and a 4 inch screen( that's 10cm), what I'm trying to say it's a value for money phone.
Now you wonder how is it possible.....well the secret to such cheapness(if there's such a word) is that you know you iPhone and Samsung's go all out on advertisement, which has been pushing the demand for such demand, but did you know that these costs of advertising are incurred by the consumer, meaning the R10 000 you pay for your iPhone 5 includes the advertising costs. The smartphones listed above however implemented a very clever and wonderful idea, which is.........what if....we don't advertise....yes they did that, they do not spend any money on advertising, this lessons the cost to only the manufacturing and material cost towards each devices. Further on the companies don't have branches all over the world, but rather a manufacturing plant and a head office, now you wonder how do they then sell their products.....well that's where the Internet of things come into play. The companies export their products, they use platforms like Alibaba and Amazon to sell their products on large scales. And I have to emphises again, the smartphone is value for money because it has the latest techs as your high end or closer to them.

Most South Africans are very skeptical about buying things online and giving their personal details. This is understandable since we have all these hacking and identity theft going on.
But we do need to take risks though, because online shopping is very convenient and that's the direction the world is moving to.
Wait for part 3 if you still not convinced, coming soon to your nearest device!!!
